raffiguranti i rilievi dell'Arco di Costantino in Roma
21 x 30 cm / 52 pages / illustrated
Walter Padovani Antiquario, Milan, 2003
The twenty bozzetti in red wax on slate are, with minor variations and a few omissions, a faithful reproduction of the marble reliefs of the Arch of Constantine in Rome. Realized between the eighteenth century and the beginning of the next century, probably they are the preparatory models for the construction of the Monument on a reduced scale, thus constituting a rare document of the preparatory phases of precious Grand Tour objects.
