A collection of ten carvings by the Bolognese Antonio Bonini, active between the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries. These objects, along with the ivory, the coral, the amber and the waxes formed the Wunderkammer. The Wonder Rooms were rare, exceptional, unusual, strange and extraordinary, and such as to arise amazement and marvel in the spectator, typical of the princely collections throughout the Baroque period. Preceded by a brief history of the art of wood carving in Italy, from the sixteenth century.
